Mineral resource classification
Mineral resource classification is the classification of mineral resources based on an increasing level of geological knowledge and confidence. In an effort to achieve a standard set the classifications, representative bodies from Australia, Canada, South Africa, the USA and the UK reached a provisional agreement in 1997 on the definitions of each of the various mineral classifications.
METHODS USED TO IDENTIFYING MINERALS
The hardness of a mineral can be measured by its resistance to scratching or abrasion. The Mohs scale is a set of 10 common minerals chosen for comparative hardness. The minerals are arranged in order of increasing hardness; each mineral will scratch all that precedeit, and be scratched by all that follow it. The Mohs scale is as follows:

Properties of Minerals
Hardness is one of the better properties of minerals to use for identifying a mineral. Hardness is a measure of the mineral''s resistance to scratching. The Mohs scale is a set of 10 minerals whose hardness is known. The softest mineral, talc, has a Mohs scale rating of one. Diamond is the hardest mineral …

Mineral - Mineral - Classification of minerals: Since the middle of the 19th century, minerals have been classified on the basis of their chemical composition. Under this scheme, they are divided into classes according to their dominant anion or anionic group (e.g., halides, oxides, and sulfides). Several reasons justify use of this criterion as the distinguishing factor at the highest level ...

7 Geologic Time – An Introduction to Geology
The principles behind this dating method require two key assumptions. First, the mineral grains containing the isotope formed at the same time as the rock, such as minerals in an igneous rock that crystallized from magma. Second, the mineral crystals remain a closed system, meaning they are not subsequently altered by elements moving in or out ...
Enzymes: principles and biotechnological applications
· Enzymes are potent catalysts. The enormous catalytic activity of enzymes can perhaps best be expressed by a constant, k , that is variously referred to as the turnover rate, turnover frequency or turnover number. This constant represents the number of substrate molecules that can be converted to product by a single enzyme molecule per unit time (usually per minute or per second).

What is the Forchhammer''s Principle?
Forchhammer''s Principle refers to the chemical composition of ocean water. A CTD (conductivity, temperature, and depth) device. The primary function of this tool is to detect how the conductivity and temperature of the water column changes relative to depth. Conductivity is a measure of how well a solution conducts electricity.
